Notice of Temporary Road Closure - Tyrone Road
Please note that a short portion of Tyrone Road will be closed from Saturday, June 29th, 2024 from 5:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. so that our contractor can repave the road approach to the railroad tracks.
The area in question is between the SR-74 intersection and the CSX rail crossing of Tyrone Road near the Shell Station. The detour map is included here.

As part of the 2023 SPLOST, the Town has taken action on citizen’s desire to revitalize the downtown area starting with Shamrock Park! Starting in 2024, the Town contracted with TSW consultants and their team of landscape architects and planners alongside a 10-member citizen steering committee to re-envision the park for future generations.
See the images below outlining the improvements intended to take place over the 5-year SPLOST collection cycle. Different elements and sections associated with the park improvement will occur in phases over the SPLOST collection cycle starting with the stage and pavilion. The Tyrone Town Center Streetscape and Mobility Schematic RFP has been released! This long-anticipated project is the result of a $160,000 Atlanta Regional Commission Grant as part of their Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) program. The scope of the project will be to develop appropriate streetscape and mobility designs for pedestrians and multi-use users along Senoia Road and within Downtown!

🌳 Join the Shamrock Park Improvement Steering Committee! 🌳
As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing our beautiful town, we're reimagining Shamrock Park in line with the 'Envision Tyrone' downtown master plan from 2021. And we want citizens to be a part of it!
We're seeking 3 dedicated citizens to join a steering committee that will provide invaluable feedback on the proposed park designs. If you're a regular user of Shamrock Park and are passionate about its future, this is your chance to make a difference!
📌 What we're looking for:
- Regular users of Shamrock Park.
- A diverse demographic representation of our town's residents.
📝 Information:
- The steering committee will work with Town staff to review designs consistent with the Downtown Plan.
- The steering committee will meet approximately 2-3 times over the design period to provide commentary and recommendations.
- The steering committee will recommend final designs to Town Council for their ultimate selection.

The Town's new eight-court pickleball facility at Redwine Park will be open for play on Friday September 1, 2023 at 8:00 a.m.
Please Note:
1. The contractor still has a few "punch list" items to complete and will be on site sporadically working on those tasks through September. They have been asked to do their best to minimize their impact on court access when they're working, but there may be a day or two when we have to limit access to the public. We will make those announcements on our Facebook page.
2. Please do not park along Byewood Lane - there is plenty of parking in the paved lot.
