Each year, the Town of Tyrone honors those who have served, or are serving, in the United States Armed Forces. This year, in partnership with the Friends of the Tyrone Museum's Tyrone Veterans Committee, the Town will recognize these individuals through the Veteran Recognition Banner Program.
Through this program, families and supporters may honor a veteran by purchasing a commemorative banner for $150, which will be displayed along designated roadways and parks near the center of Tyrone.
Proceeds from this program will help fund future improvements to Tyrone's Veteran's Park.
Applications, required documentation, and payment must be submitted no later than May 1, 2026. Banners are scheduled to be installed prior to Memorial Day 2026 and will remain on display through Veterans Day 2026. Following the display period, banners will be returned to the applicant.
Banners are 30" x 60".
Disclaimer: This year the program is on a first come, first served basis. Banners will be limited to one (1) per service member. Installation and location of the banners are at the organizers’ discretion. Organizers are not responsible for lost/stolen banners or repairs to the banners, should they be damaged by inclement weather or otherwise, aside from standard manufacturer warranty. Refunds will be processed for unapproved applications.
The Tyrone Veterans Committee operates as a committee under the Friends of the Tyrone Museum, a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
